DOJ to Monitor Elections in California and New Jersey

Civil Rights Division to oversee polling sites to uphold transparency and voter protections.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it will monitor polling sites in several California and New Jersey counties during the November 4 elections to ensure transparency and compliance with federal voting laws. The effort, led by the Civil Rights Division under Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, is intended to promote public trust in the electoral process. Federal observers will be present in five California counties—Kern, Riverside, Fresno, Orange, and Los Angeles—and in Passaic County, New Jersey.

“The Department of Justice will do everything necessary to protect the votes of eligible American citizens, ensuring our elections are safe and secure,” Assistant AG Dhillon stated. “Transparent election processes and election monitoring are critical tools for safeguarding our elections and ensuring public trust in the integrity of our elections.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasized that maintaining transparency at the polls reinforces confidence in fair elections and that the department will devote resources to upholding election integrity.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Attorney General Bondi and Assistant Attorney General Dhillon as they seek to ensure election integrity this coming week.
  • For DOJ officials who observe the voting process to be prudent in their oversight.
